_Click here for a [video](https://youtu.be/TNjfxnQRotI?si=jRIKoBPN5zU49K2Q) tutorial. _

Create a full composition based on a chord progression.
Start by clicking on the green **Create Track** button then selecting **Chord Progression**.
After, choose the style.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/ezgifcom-video-to-gif_ffluwh.gif)

**Text-to-Harmony**

Check our recommendations for text prompts [here](https://aiva.crisp.help/en/article/best-practices-for-text-prompts-in-composition-workflows-1b2djll/).

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/text-to-harmony-ezgifcom-video_nov6b7.gif)

Using the **Settings** option you can select the Style, choose to display in numerals, set up the Key Signature, the Time Signature and the Tempo.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/settings-ezgifcom-video-to-gif_aer4st.gif)

**Display Numerals** is a function to enable Roman numerals display. When it is disabled you can see all the chords labeled with chord names. By enabling the toggle you can see the chord progressions in Roman numerals.

You can use websites like [Chordify](https://chordify.net/) to search for the chord progression for the song you like.
The benefits for using websites like this is that in addition to getting the full chord progression you can also get other key information such as the the Key Signature and the Tempo.
You can use this information to set up the Settings.

By hovering to any of the chords you will see 2 options.
Use the **pen icon** on the left to change the chord that you selected.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/adjust_xzh3ok.png)

Use the **Symbol** drop-down menu to pick the chord's symbol.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/symbol_8c5vjc.png)

Use the **Extension** drop-down menu to pick the quality and the type of the chord.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/extension_1a5cnp9.png)

The **+** icon on the right allows to add a chord after the initially selected chord.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/icon_16l241l.png)

You can add more chords in until the chords block becomes small.
Once it does, you will see a 3 dot (...) icon. Click on that icon to see the options for modifying the selected chord block.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/split-in-half_5l4z5d.png)

**Split in half** - splits your chord into half (this will only work for chords longer than 1 beat)
**Delete** - removes the selected chord
Note: Deletion only works for chords shorter than 1 measure (the longest any chord can be is 1 measure)

Use the **Zoom slider** on top to resize the chords.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/zoom-slider_fj6qcl.png)

Hover your mouse to the edge of the chord block to stretch or shorten your selected chord.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/stretch-and-shorten_qiqjo4.gif)

Instead of typing in the same chord over and over stretch it.

Use the magic **Generate** button to generate a brand new chord progression.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/magicgenerate-ezgifcom-video-t_1vf9u1q.gif)

Click **Next** to move to the next step where you can name and save your workflow.

Create a new composition from your workflow.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9622801492bcd000/create-composition_1e4sf1z.gif)

Use the **Composition workflow name** space to name your workflow.
Use the **Composition duration** to set the duration of your composition.
Use the **Number of compositions** to choose the number of tracks you want to create.
Enable **Save workflow to your account** to use your workflow in your future compositions.

Reuse the same chord progression in your future compositions.
To edit the chord progression click on edit.
